For good oral health, patients should see the oral hygienist on a regular basis.

Hygienist treatments include:

• Professional scale and polishing
• Advanced gum treatment
• Education in prevention of dental disease
• Fissure sealants for children and adults
• Desensitizing treatment

Your dentist will do an assessment to determine your individual hygienist programme.

Some hygiene treatment procedures may need a local anaesthetic. Our hygienists can do this by traditional numbing or a new procedure that only numbs around the tooth that needs to be treated for a pain free procedure.
