Dr Peter Saunsbury BDS Lond
Peter studied at University College Hospital in London and joined Coniston in 1979. As both his parents were dentists, a career in dentistry was the obvious choice
Peter has an interest in all aspects of general practice dentistry including root canal work, cosmetic treatments and tooth whitening. He encourages parents to bring their children for check ups at an early age to learn about good brushing and prevention of decay. Healthy baby teeth mean that children no longer have to fear a visit to the dentist!
To keep up to date with the latest developments in in dentistry, Peter regularly attends postgraduate courses run by the British Dental Association and Denplan. He also is the Secretary of the Woking Dental Society and organises meetings with local colleagues.
Peter is a great believer in communication when developing a treatment plan for each patient. Talking to patients to find out their specific needs and expectations is very important. Equally, Peter likes to explain what options are available and what each type of treatment involves, to enable his patients to help him choose the treatment that is right for them.
All his patients are encouraged to see him for regular check ups so that he can monitor the health of their gums as well as their teeth. Good oral hygiene is essential for a healthy mouth and visiting the hygienist can help those patients with a poor gum condition to reduce the risk of loosing their teeth and greatly improve their oral health.
Peter lives in Woking and is married with two teenage children. Although family life keeps him busy, he still finds time to enjoy swimming ,badminton and gardening. His other interests include foreign travel, cars and motorsport.
